Confirmed reservations
You may cancel your reservation at any time up to 48 hours before the check-out time without charge. Cancellation should be made by telephone on 01752 339444 or by email first.transport@virgin.net.
If you cancel after this time, then we will charge a cancellation fee of 80% of the hire fee only in the case where we have not been able to rebook the vehicle for the same period of hire.
All drivers must be aged between 21 and 70 inclusive. Important: Drivers aged 21-24 must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 24 months which is free of current endorsements and drivers aged 25 – 70 must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
An additional daily charge of £15.00 (incl VAT and CDW) applies to drivers aged 21-24.
Anyone who will be driving the Taurus vehicle must present a valid driving licence with their current address in person, at the time of collection. No copies of licences will be accepted.
IMPORTANT: On collection of vehicle, renter must produce:
- a valid driving licence (both parts of the new UK Licence are required)- we cannot accept an expired photocard
- 1 additional form of ID confirming home address as shown on driving licence(eg. utilities bill, bank statement, dated no older than three months) plus
- Additional drivers must present a valid driving licence (both parts of new UK Licence are required) - we cannot accept an expired photocard.
- Photocopies are not acceptable
Licence endorsements up to 6 points are accepted for drivers over 25. If the driver has been banned from driving for a AC, MS, LC, IN, CD, XX, NE, TT, BA, DD, DR or UT offence, or has been disqualified for 6 months or more we will only rent 5 years or more after the return of the licence.
When collecting the vehicle, the Lead Driver must present
- a valid driving licence. If old (paper-only) style, official photo ID must also be presented. If new (photo card + counterpart) style, both parts are required. We cannot accept an expired photo card (see Driving Licences section for further details)
- If the licence does not show your current home then two additional forms of ID are required to confirm your address both must be dated within 8 weeks of date of hire

- additional drivers must present a valid driving licence (both parts of new UK Licence are required - we cannot accept an expired photo card)
- Any driver who holds an old paper style driving licence must also produce one form of photo ID
- Please contact us prior to hiring if you have any questions regarding the identification that is required
Collision Damage Waiver
We offer a fully comprehensive collision damage waiver which reduces your excess liability £750.00 to £100.00.
The cover is supplied by XS Shield. In the event of a vehicle being damaged you pay the cost in the normal way and are then able to claim the money back from them excluding the first £100.00.

GPS Rental
Save time and stress getting to your destination with our Garmin GPS navigation units
- £10 per day (1-6 day hires)
- £5 per day (7 days+ hires)
You can request a GPS when placing your reservation (subject to availability)
Additional Driver
Why not give yourself added flexibility and add an additional driver to share the driving. A great idea for longer journeys.

Baby Seats – Need a child seat or booster seat?
UK law states that all children up to 135cm tall, and up to the age of 12 years (whichever comes first) travelling in the front or rear seats of a car or van must travel in the correct child seat for their weight.
Child car seat information
We can supply baby and booster seats for children up to twelve years old for use in your Taurus vehicle, £5.00 per day (max 10 days charged)

- Booster seat 4 -11 years
Please note: Baby seats are subject to availability.
Travel pack
If you are travelling abroad then a travel pack is available on booking which will include most of the items you are required to carry when travelling on the continent at a charge of £15.00.
All our vehicles are diesel. The amount of fuel that is in the vehicle is recorded at the beginning of the hire and it is your responsibility to replace the fuel you use.
Excess payments
All hirers are subject to a damage liability of at least £750.00 which can only be reduced by purchasing our collision damage waiver.
Prices quoted for overseas travel include fully comprehensive green card cover travel documents.
We do not offer recovery abroad and it is your responsibility to arrange this cover and a condition of the hire.
A travel pack is available on booking which will include most of the items you are required to carry when travelling on the continent at a charge of £15.00.
Payment for your hire is due on booking in addition you will be required to pay a £150.00 security deposit.
Your security deposit is refundable when you return the vehicle subject to passing damage checks. Should we find damage within 72 hours of the vehicle’s return we reserve the right to charge the repair cost to your card and charges for traffic/parking penalties any time up to 28 days after the hire.
Please be aware that refunds can take up to 5 working days to return to your account.
Payment can only be made by debit or credit card. There is a 5% charge for credit card payments and no charge for debit cards.
In the event that you return the vehicle earlier than the date originally specified on the voucher, no refund will be made.
If you wish to return the vehicle after the time originally specified, you should contact the branch to agree this. You will be charged for every day or part-day you have the vehicle after the original agreed date and time at the rate specified on the rental agreement when you collect the vehicle.
